From the South July 2011

Brethren,

The month of June kicked off with an exciting trip to Orlando for the 182nd Grand Lodge Communication.  R:.H:.W:. Brad Watson, Brother Rickey Sikes and I all attended and picked up valuable information and education.  We enjoyed fellowship with other Lodges and even witnessed the Grand Lodge Installation which included our very own Brother, Right Honorable Worshipful Brad Watson; please join me in congratulating him as he continues to serve our Lodge and District.  The whole experience was beyond words.  If you have not already attended this event, it is something that I would certainly suggest.

If you haven’t heard the buzz, Pearl of the West will be teaming up with the Springtime Commandery to present quite a blowout of sorts for Masons and the community alike.  The event itself is free to attend and appropriate for all ages.  In fact, we’ll even have the Child ID Program set up which is also at no charge.  Food and some “attractions” are extra, however, but well worth the investment.  Proceeds will go to charities.  Come out, bring your family, friends and neighbors and support the community!

On July 07th, Pearl of the West will host our District Deputy Grand Master, R:. W:. Richard Brooks, for his official visit to our Lodge.  We will enjoy ham, scalloped potatoes and steamed veggies for your culinary delightment.

I look forward to seeing you all at Pearl of the West!

Fraternally,

Scott Mitchell
